RECOGNIZING, REMEMBERING, HONORING  SOUTH FLORIDIANS WHO SERVED.

DID YOU KNOW IN1942 THE US GOVERNMENT BUILT A NAVAL STATION IN RICHMOND HEIGHTS, SOUTH MIAMI-DADE?
THE PHOTOS ABOVE DEPICT A GLORIOUS MILITARY HISTORY STARTING IN 1942, WHEN OFF THE COAST OF SOUTH FLORIDA GERMAN UBOAT PATROLLED THE WATERS LOOKING FOR AMERICAN TARGETS.   SINCE THAT TIME THE BASE HAS GONE THROUGH A NUMBER OF MISSION CHANGES.  PRESENTLY THE LAST SURVIVING BUILDING FROM THE ORIGINAL BASE IS BEING RENOVATED AND IS THE MAIN BUILING FOR THE MIAMI MILITARY MUSEUM.  HELP US PRESERVE THE PAST AND ENRICH THE FUTURE.
